It is important to clean and store your new molds properly, we recommend the following instructions:
Plastic Molds
Wash in warm to hot water, hot enough so that your hands are comfortable. Any hotter and you could burn your hands and distort the molds. Use a mild dish soap like Dawn or Palmolive, those two products work really well to cut through the greasy buttery residue. Use a soft scrub sponge or cloth, never use a steel pad or hard bristle brush. Once washed, rinse and towel dry then store flat in a dark cool place.
Silicone Molds
Unlike our plastic molds, our silicone product will withstand up to 400 degress so really hot water will not hurt them. We do however recommend that you use the same hot water as you would for the plastic molds, hot enough to do the job but not too hot that you will burn your hands. Our silicone molds can be cleaned in the dishwasher but we do not recommend that if you use standard dishwasher detergent. It is too abrasive and that can possibly dull the surface of your molds. Just follow the same instructions for the plastic molds and your molds will clean up nicely. if there are ocassions that you have a heavy build up of residue you can use hotter water without harming the molds, just be sure to not put your hands in hotter water that you can handle safely. Once cleaned rinse and towel dry then store flat in a dark cool place.
